"Alzinger's Dürnsteiner 2017 Ried Liebenberg Grüner Veltliner Smaragd is from the two terraces below the Riesling vines, in the highest part of the cru where the soil intermixes paragneiss and amphibolite. The clear and flinty bouquet is coolish and spicy-mineral with concentrated white fruit and some nutty aromas. Lush, round and very elegant on the palate, with a dense, juicy-piquant and well structured texture, this is a rich but vital, stimulatingly salty Liebenberg with gorgeous grip and impressive tension. A great Veltliner from the 2017 vintage. Tasted in Unterloiben, Wachau, September 2018."
