"The 2021 Ried Höhereck Riesling Smaragd shows a clear, elegant, finely spicy and mineral-fresh nose. Powerful and dense, but also full of tension on the palate, this Riesling is nowhere near as powerful as so many of its peers of the vintage. The finish is persistently salty, spicy and long. A remarkably complex Smaragd. Tasted at Schloss Dürnstein, Wachau, in September 2022."
